Experience

While attending law school, Sloane volunteered for the Student Legal Services program during her 1L year, aimed at providing legal services to low-income clients. Before returning to Parlee to article, Sloane worked as an in-house summer student for an oil and gas company in Calgary, Alberta, where she gained experience working with corporate clients.

During her articling, Sloane worked on a number of matters, including drafting materials for Alberta Human Rights Commission matters, insurance defense clients, assessing severance packages for both employees and employers, conducting trademark searches and analysis, and appearing on behalf of clients in enforcement proceedings, among other responsibilities. She maintains an interest in corporate governance matters, employment matters, energy related matters, and both civil and commercial litigation broadly.

Outside of work, Sloane likes to travel whenever and wherever she can.
