Experience

While completing her articles with Alberta Justice & Solicitor General, Megan had the opportunity to gather experience at several different rotations including the Legal Services Division. After her call to the Bar in 2018, Megan was employed as a Crown Prosecutor. In this role, she found herself gaining experience in drafting and submitting written and oral arguments before the Alberta Provincial Court (now Court of Justice) and Court of King’s Bench in Response to applications made under the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms among others. Her practice grew to include Summary Conviction Appeal work before the Alberta Court of King’s Bench.

Megan was fortunate enough to gain extensive advisory and litigation experience during her time as a Crown Prosecutor with Alberta Justice, where she developed skills in both written and oral advocacy, in addition to knowledge of the practical aspects of the alternative dispute resolution processes.

Since joining Parlee McLaws in 2021, Megan has been able to build her own caseload including a number of ongoing trial matters before the Alberta Court of Justice and Court of King’s Bench.
