We are looking for a Corporate Legal Assistant to join the Parlee McLaws team in our Calgary office. This full-time, permanent position provides support to a team of lawyers practicing in Corporate and Commercial Law.

Our ideal candidate has 5+ years of legal assistant experience, a strong background in Corporate Law, and excels in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment. If you are highly organized, detail-driven and passionate about delivering exceptional client service, we want you on our team!

This role requires the successful candidate to work on-site, five days per week in our Calgary office.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Providing support on all aspects of major transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, financings, and general corporate work, including minute book review and maintenance, due diligence and reporting
• Drafting correspondence and a variety of legal documents via dictation, written, verbal
• Managing time entry, preparation of accounts, and collection of accounts
• Manage workflow for team of lawyers
• Coordinating and scheduling meetings and maintaining calendars
• Liaising with clients as required
• Conducting searches as required
• General administrative tasks including office and file management
• Other administrative tasks as required

What We’re Looking For:

• 5+ years of previous experience as a Legal Assistant (a strong background in Corporate Law is an asset)
• Post-secondary education from a recognized Legal Assistant program
• Understanding of basic accounting principles
• Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Exceptional attention to detail with a commitment to accurate and high-quality work
• Ability to organize, prioritize work and meet deadlines with a high degree of personal initiative
• Experience handling confidential information in an ethical and professional manner
• A team player who can also work independently
• Strong client service and relationship building skills
• Adaptability to changing priorities in a high-volume work environment
